Stage 1: Consultation

Purpose:

  • Determine if an implant is the best solution for you.
  • Discuss your dental history, health status, and specific needs.

What to Expect:

Comprehensive oral examination.

Discussion about your medical history andcurrent medications.

Stage 2: CBCT 3D X-Ray

Purpose:

  • Obtain detailed images of your jawbone and surrounding structures.
  • Plan the exact placement of the implant.

What to Expect:

  • You will be asked to sit still while the CBCT machine rotates around your head.

This scan provides a 3D image of your jaw, allowing for precise planning and placement of the implant.

Stage 3: Implant/Graft Placement

Purpose:

  • Place the implant into the jawbone or graft bone if necessary.

What to Expect:

  • The area is numbed using local anaesthesia.
  • A small incision is made in the gum to access the jawbone.

The implant is placed into the bone, and the gum is stitched closed.

If a bone graft is needed, it will be placed first to ensure there is enough bone to support the implant.

Stage 4: Healing Period

Purpose:

Allow the implant to integrate with the bone (osseointegration).

After qualifying in 2009 from the University of Bristol, Arminder started his dental career working as a Maxillofacial SHO in Treliske Hospital, Cornwall. During his time at Treliske he gained invaluable experience in all aspects of maxillofacial surgery.

Arminder is now a practicing dentist who has a passion for dental implant surgery. He recently completed his second year in a master’s degree on Implant dentistry. He has helped numerous patients who have lost teeth to regain their smiles and confidence.
